Who We Are & What We Do

South King County Trips (SKC Trips) is a project of the City of Tukwila's Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Program. Tukwila's TDM Program delivers TDM services to residents, workers, and businesses in Tukwila and south King County. Our projects encourage sustainable transportation behaviors to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality.

What is TDM?

TDM refers to a set of strategies aimed at reducing the demand for roadway travel, particularly in single occupancy vehicles. These strategies address a wide range of externalities associated with driving, including congestion, poor air quality, less livable communities, reduced public health, dependence on oil, and climate change.

TDM focuses on understanding how people make transportation decisions and helps them use transit, ridesharing, walking, biking, and telework. Learn more at Mobility Lab.

Tukwila's TDM programs and projects are possible thanks to state Regional Mobility Grant funding and in partnership with King County Metro and Hopelink Mobility Management.
